IDF and Shin Bet Destroy Hamas Weapons Caches and Rocket Launcher in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency conducted a series of strikes across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, targeting Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror infrastructure. The operation resulted in the destruction of three weapons storage facilities containing numerous munitions, including rockets and Kalashnikov rifles. Additionally, a rocket launching pit used to fire projectiles at Israel during the ongoing conflict was eliminated.

Intelligence indicated that Hamas operatives have recently accessed these caches to arm themselves for guard duty and to solidify their control within Gaza, suggesting attempts by the organization to rebuild its military capabilities. These strikes are part of broader military operations in Gaza over the past few days.

Earlier this week, the IDF eliminated Mohammed al-Qadi, a commander in Hamas's elite Nukhba force who led the raid on the Sufa outpost on October 7th and was involved in holding hostages. In a separate operation last week, elite Shin Bet and IDF forces captured the head of Hamas's general security in Gaza in a complex operation in western Gaza City, which involved ground forces and extensive aerial support.

The IDF spokesperson stated that the military will continue to operate decisively to degrade terror organizations' capabilities in Gaza and thwart any attempts to rebuild them or stockpile weapons for attacks against Israeli forces. Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area and will continue to operate to neutralize immediate threats.
