Israel Strikes Hamas, Islamic Jihad Weapons Depots and Rocket Launcher in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency conducted targeted strikes across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, destroying three weapons storage facilities belonging to Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Additionally, a rocket launching pit, from which rockets were fired at Israel during the war, was eliminated.
The destroyed facilities contained dozens of weapons, including rockets, Kalashnikov rifles, and other military equipment. The IDF identified that Hamas operatives had recently accessed these sites, using the stored weapons for guard duties and to solidify the terror organization's control within the Strip.
IDF forces from the Southern Command are deployed in the area according to an agreement. The IDF emphasized its ongoing commitment to degrading the capabilities of terror organizations, thwarting their attempts at rebuilding, and neutralizing any immediate threats to Israeli forces.
