Israel Strikes Hamas Weapons Depots and Rocket Launch Site in Gaza
The Israeli military and Shin Bet security agency conducted strikes across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, targeting three Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad weapons storage facilities and a rocket launch pit used during the recent conflict. The targeted sites contained numerous weapons, including rockets, Kalashnikov rifles, and other combat equipment.
According to the IDF, Hamas operatives had recently been observed accessing these depots, utilizing the weapons for guard duties and to solidify their control within the Strip. The military stated that the strikes were carried out in multiple areas of Gaza.
In addition to the weapons caches, a launch pit from which rockets were fired into Israel during the war was also destroyed. The IDF indicated that forces in the southern command are positioned according to existing agreements and will continue to neutralize immediate threats.
The operation aims to thwart attempts by terrorist organizations to rebuild their capabilities or to stockpile weapons intended to harm Israeli forces. The IDF emphasized its ongoing commitment to removing threats and maintaining security along the border.
