Tom Tugendhat, a former Conservative security minister, has cautioned against such actions, warning that damaging diplomatic ties with Israel could endanger British citizens. He revealed that British security services have foiled terrorist attacks on UK soil thanks to intelligence shared by Israeli counterparts.

Tugendhat urged Miliband not to be distracted by "pet projects" like international aid, but to focus on British interests. He emphasized Israel's crucial role as an intelligence partner, stating that cooperation with Israeli intelligence sources has helped protect Britons from terrorist attacks. Tugendhat also suggested that the Labour party's strategy risks empowering extremists in both Israeli and Palestinian societies and could undermine Britain's reliability as a partner.
