U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckaby stated that an anticipated British announcement banning trade with Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria will likely provoke a response from the United States. In an interview with BBC News, Huckaby indicated that Washington's reaction "will undoubtedly follow." He elaborated that retaliatory measures could come not only from the federal government but also from individual U.S. states.

Huckaby cautioned that London's decision could have a "huge economic impact on British business." He explained that British companies might, in certain cases, be prohibited from operating within specific American states. The British government is expected to announce a ban on trade with goods from Israeli settlements as part of a policy review concerning Israel and its settlement activities.
