Listeria Bacteria Found in Gad Dairy Camembert Cheese
Gad Dairy is recalling its 130-gram Camembert cheese, 33% fat, with an expiration date of September 7, 2026, due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall was initiated after the French manufacturer discovered the bacteria during testing. Consumers who have purchased the affected product are urged not to consume it. Gad Dairy will collect the recalled cheese.
The recall is being coordinated with the Ministry of Health's Food Service. The ministry warned that Listeria monocytogenes can cause illness, particularly in high-risk populations such as those with weakened immune systems, the elderly, and pregnant women, where it can lead to miscarriages.
