The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of three Hamas Nukhba operatives in recent strikes in the Gaza Strip. One of the targeted individuals, Ahmed Muhammad Ahmed Baraka, a Nukhba terrorist in Hamas's military wing, was killed in a strike in southern Gaza last Thursday. Baraka participated in the kidnapping of Israeli civilians during the October 7th massacre, including Alexander Danzig from Kibbutz Nir Oz. During the war, he also aided in holding numerous hostages, such as Nimrod Cohen, in southern Gaza.
In a separate operation in northern Gaza last Friday, the IDF eliminated two more Hamas military wing operatives: Omar Awatsallah, identified as a Nukhba squad commander, and Mutaz Mahmoud Muhammad Alnamr, another Nukhba terrorist. The IDF stated that these operatives had been advancing terror plans against Israeli forces and civilians and working to rebuild Hamas's capabilities, systematically violating ceasefires.
The strikes were conducted from the air to neutralize the threat posed by the operatives. Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area and will continue to operate to eliminate all threats, according to the IDF.
