The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced over the weekend that it had eliminated three Hamas Nukhba operatives in the Gaza Strip. One of those killed was Ahmed Muhammad Ahmed Baraka, who was directly involved in the kidnapping of Israeli civilians from Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7th attack, including Alexander Danzig. Baraka also aided in holding Israeli hostages in southern Gaza during the war, including Nimrod Cohen.
In a separate airstrike in northern Gaza, the IDF killed two other Nukhba terrorists: Omar Awaisallah, who served as a Nukhba squad commander, and Mutaz Mahmoud Muhammad al-Nimr. According to the IDF spokesperson, these operatives were recently working to advance terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians and to restore Hamas's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire.
Forces from the Southern Command remain deployed in the area and are continuing operations to neutralize threats.
