Former Labor Chair Shelly Yachimovich Reveals Pancreatic Cancer Diagnosis and Ongoing Chemotherapy

Shelly Yachimovich, former chair of Israel's Labor Party and media personality, disclosed on August 23, 2026, that she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer eight months ago. She revealed the diagnosis in a tweet on her X account, explaining that the tumor was detected early without metastases, allowing for immediate surgical removal. Subsequent CT scans have shown no recurrence of the cancer.

Despite the positive signs, Yachimovich is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatments every two weeks to combat the disease.
