Former Israeli Politician Sheli Yachimovich Shares Pancreatic Cancer Battle and Treatment Journey

Sheli Yachimovich revealed that eight months ago she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Fortunately, the cancer was detected at an early stage without metastases, and she underwent immediate surgery. Follow-up CT scans have shown no recurrence of the tumor so far. Despite this positive progress, she is undergoing intensive chemotherapy every two weeks due to the aggressive nature of pancreatic cancer.

Yachimovich described the emotional and physical challenges of treatment but emphasized she does not feel victimized or fearful. She contextualized her experience by reflecting on the tragic loss of many young lives in recent years, which gives her perspective on her own situation. She continues to live actively, cycling and socializing, though with some moderation due to chemotherapy side effects.
