Israeli Police Representative Walter Kogan Confirms Safety of Missing Mother and Daughter Found in Argentina

Two days after becoming a viral sensation, Israeli police officer Walter Alejandro Kogan, stationed in South America, detailed the operation that led to locating missing mother and daughter Mally and Liel Yahalomi in Buenos Aires. In a video released by the Israeli police on Sunday, Kogan explained that upon learning the pair had arrived in Argentina, he quickly initiated an investigation. He coordinated with Argentine police and Interpol, traveling operationally outside Buenos Aires to find them. After identifying himself and confirming their safety, Kogan ensured no criminal offenses had occurred.

Kogan described the international cooperation between Israeli police representatives worldwide and local enforcement agencies as part of a global intelligence network aimed at combating crime. Additional forces from the intelligence division supported the operation, which concluded successfully. Kogan, formerly a senior investigations and intelligence officer in the Israeli city of Arad, was promoted to deputy superintendent before his current role representing Israeli police in Latin America.

The video shows Kogan speaking to Mally and Liel, reassuring them and explaining the process as he removed others from the bus to speak privately. His previous work included high-profile property crime cases and sensitive investigations in Israel.
