Israeli police investigating the disappearance of Mally Yehalomi and her daughter Liel have uncovered cellphone communications revealing that Liel was aware of and willingly joined her mother's escape plan. The daughter messaged her mother, "I will go with you anywhere," confirming her voluntary participation. Both women deleted apps and took steps on their phones to hinder tracking, including using the Gemini app to ask questions possibly related to route planning.

Authorities believe the disappearance was carefully planned. Mally Yehalomi, who worked at Bank of Jerusalem, withdrew at least 50,000 shekels in cash before leaving, suggesting preparation for a prolonged absence. Investigators found no signs of family violence or major financial troubles but noted some economic difficulties. The grandmother is also under investigation for possibly providing funds and knowledge of the plan. There is little contact between Mally and the children's father.

The escape route involved traveling from Vienna, chosen for its major European train junction, to Frankfurt, and then to Argentina. They left false digital traces to create the impression they remained in Vienna. Israeli police, including the Lahav 433 unit, coordinated with local authorities and tracked the women to a bus in Argentina. A representative named Walter, dispatched from Mexico, arrived shortly after their arrival. The women planned to move within 20 hours to an undisclosed destination where they could easily obtain forged passports and avoid extradition to Israel.

During a brief interrogation after being stopped, Mally and Liel cited personal reasons for their departure but declined to elaborate. Police emphasized the operation was conducted solely by law enforcement without involvement from Mossad or Shin Bet. The investigation suggests Mally sought to start a new life away from her family and previous circumstances, with her daughter joining due to their close relationship. The full motive remains unclear. Police delayed action for about a week to avoid compromising European collaborators and waited for the right moment to apprehend them safely.
