Israeli Police Track Down Missing Maly and Liel Yehalomi Across Continents

The Israeli Police successfully located missing Israeli mother and daughter, Maly and Liel Yehalomi, in South America after an extensive international search. Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Aryeh Doron detailed the operation, which was initiated following a report of their disappearance and initial fears of kidnapping amid a sensitive period of threats against Israelis abroad.

The investigation involved a special command center established overseas under the directive of Police Commissioner Danni Levi, collaborating with Europol and Interpol. Israeli intelligence units worked around the clock, coordinating with international representatives to track the Yehalomis’ movements across multiple countries, including the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, and finally Argentina, where they were found on a bus.

Doron emphasized the complexity of the case, noting attempts to mislead investigators by sending photos from different locations. The breakthrough came when Walter, an Israeli police representative, personally contacted the Yehalomis in Argentina, confirming their safety and well-being. Walter’s interaction was described as a significant moment, highlighting the emotional relief for all involved.
