Maccabi Tel Aviv is close to finalizing the sale of forward Said Abu Farhi to the Colorado Rapids. On Monday, further understandings were reached regarding the terms of the deal, which includes a transfer fee slightly above $6 million, future sale percentage, and performance-related bonuses benefiting Maccabi Tel Aviv. The club's owner, Mitch Goldhar, must still approve the transaction.
Maccabi Tel Aviv is preparing for Abu Farhi's departure but will decide whether he will play in the upcoming second leg against CSKA Sofia on Thursday at 21:00 only after receiving Goldhar's approval. Abu Farhi trained normally on Monday and reportedly does not intend to skip the match, wishing to remain with the team unless the clubs decide otherwise.
Once the clubs agree in principle, Abu Farhi's agent, lawyer Shahar Greenberg, will finalize the player's contract with Colorado Rapids. Given Abu Farhi's age, his maximum gross salary in the first season is capped at $800,000. This deal marks a significant step in the player's career and Maccabi Tel Aviv's transfer activity.
