Maccabi Tel Aviv Receives $6 Million Offer from Colorado Rapids for Young Star Said Abu Farhi

Maccabi Tel Aviv is negotiating a potential transfer of its 20-year-old forward Said Abu Farhi to the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer (MLS). The American club has offered $6 million for the player, while Maccabi Tel Aviv is demanding around $8 million. Discussions are ongoing, with a possible compromise near $7 million expected to finalize the deal.

Abu Farhi and his family currently hold 17.5% of his player rights, and Maccabi Tel Aviv may request that they relinquish this share to facilitate the transfer, similar to a previous arrangement with player Roy Revivo. Meanwhile, European interest continues, notably from Italian club Torino, but they have not matched the financial offers coming from the United States.

If the transfer proceeds, Abu Farhi would follow in the footsteps of Dor Turgeman, who moved from Maccabi Tel Aviv to the MLS's New England Revolution last summer. The Colorado Rapids are owned by Stan Kroenke, who also owns Arsenal and several other sports teams in the U.S. This move could mark another significant Israeli player transition to the MLS.

The negotiations highlight the growing appeal of MLS clubs for young Israeli talents and the financial considerations involved in such international transfers.
