Maccabi Tel Aviv's Saeed Abu Freihy Attracts $6 Million MLS Offer from Colorado Rapids

Saeed Abu Freihy, the young striker for Maccabi Tel Aviv who has started the season impressively, is close to transferring to the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. The Israeli club received a $6 million offer from Colorado, and the deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days. Abu Freihy's family owns 17.5% of his rights and stands to gain a significant portion of the transfer fee.

Last season, Abu Freihy made 31 appearances, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists. This season, the 20-year-old striker has already scored twice in key victories, including the Super Cup win against Hapoel Be'er Sheva and the first qualifying round match against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League qualifiers. Earlier in the transfer window, scouts from several European clubs, including Genoa and Torino from Serie A and teams from the Russian league, were seen monitoring his performances.

Colorado Rapids currently sit 11th in the Western Conference with 22 points after 18 matches, having finished 11th last season as well, missing the playoffs. The team features former Arsenal defender Rob Holding and ex-Manchester City goalkeeper Zack Steffen.
