West Ham Signs Israeli Midfielder Manor Solomon to Boost Championship Promotion Bid

Israeli midfielder Manor Solomon has officially joined West Ham United, a prominent English club recently relegated to the Championship, aiming to return swiftly to the Premier League. Solomon, who impressed during Tottenham's preseason matches, was acquired for approximately £5 million plus up to £2 million in bonuses. He signed a contract through 2029 with an option for an additional year.

Solomon spent the past two years on loan from Tottenham to Leeds United, Villarreal, and Fiorentina. His most successful season was with Leeds in 2024-25, where he scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists, helping Leeds secure promotion to the Premier League. However, Leeds could not secure his permanent transfer. His subsequent loans at Villarreal and Fiorentina were less impactful.

Despite strong preseason performances for Tottenham, new coach Roberto De Zerbi did not include Solomon in his plans for the upcoming season. Solomon is not expected to feature in West Ham's squad for the first Championship match but is likely to appear from the bench in the second round. He is set to earn close to £2 million in the coming season, with potential increases if West Ham returns to the Premier League.

Solomon becomes the fifth Israeli to play for West Ham, joining notable names such as Yossi Benayoun, Eyal Berkovic, Tal Ben Haim, and Yaniv Katan. He aims to help the club regain its status among England's top football teams.
