Israeli Star Manor Solomon Transfers from Tottenham to West Ham in Championship Move

Israeli national team player Manor Solomon is set to transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to West Ham United in the English Championship, ending his three-year tenure at Tottenham. The move, finalized for just under £10 million, is significantly less than Tottenham's initial asking price, reflecting West Ham's negotiation and the player's recent loan spells. Solomon was loaned out for the past two seasons to Leeds United, helping them gain promotion to the Premier League, and last season to Villarreal and Fiorentina. Although Tottenham had signed him to a five-year contract in summer 2023, the club's current manager Roberto De Zerbi did not include Solomon in his plans for the upcoming season, prompting the sale.

West Ham, relegated last season but aiming for immediate promotion, secured Solomon after initial hesitation due to fan concerns about his Israeli nationality and financial terms. The clubs agreed on a higher fee than West Ham's initial £5 million offer, including bonuses contingent on promotion. Solomon impressed during Tottenham's preseason under De Zerbi, who previously coached him at Shakhtar Donetsk, earning starts against Chelsea, Auckland, and Sydney. West Ham's manager Nuno Espírito Santo, who remained with the club after relegation, advocated strongly for Solomon's signing. West Ham has retained key players like Jarrod Bowen, Nicklas Füllkrug, James Ward-Prowse, and Tomáš Souček to bolster their promotion bid.
