West Ham Includes Special Clause in Manor Solomon's Contract to Secure Fourth Season

Manor Solomon has officially joined West Ham United from Tottenham Hotspur, with new details emerging about his contract at the London club. According to reports, Solomon's contract includes a special clause that obligates West Ham to extend his deal for a fourth season if he plays in at least 20 matches during his third year at the club. Solomon, an Israeli national team midfielder, left Tottenham after three years during which he struggled to secure a regular spot and was loaned to Leeds United, Villarreal, and Fiorentina. He was presented at West Ham wearing the number 10 shirt and is expected to make his debut on Sunday against Burnley, filling the role of Dutch player Krépin Diatta, who was initially set to transfer to Juventus but ultimately signed with Saudi club Al-Hilal.

West Ham will pay Tottenham five million pounds for Solomon, with the fee potentially rising to seven million pounds if the club achieves promotion to the Premier League. Tottenham will also receive 10 percent of any future transfer fee for Solomon. The Israeli midfielder is expected to earn around two million pounds per season, but if West Ham secures promotion by the end of the season, his salary will increase to three million pounds per season, matching what he earned at Tottenham. In that scenario, Tottenham will assist in paying Solomon's wages for the first season back in the Premier League.

Solomon's move to West Ham is also set to create intriguing matchups with other Israeli players in the Championship. In about two weeks, a derby will take place when West Ham faces Southampton, where Israeli goalkeeper Daniel Peretz plays, in the second round of the League Cup.
