Grandson of Rabbi Shalom Arush Drowns in Mexico, Body Released Without Autopsy

Four-year-old Shalom Sagner, grandson of Rabbi Shalom Arush, tragically drowned in a hotel pool during a family vacation in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. Rescue teams confirmed his death at the scene. Following the incident, the international unit of ZAKA coordinated with Mexican authorities to assist the family and handle the necessary procedures.

Although local authorities initially requested a post-mortem examination, the autopsy was ultimately waived, and the child's body was released for burial. ZAKA continues to work with Mexican officials to expedite the transfer of Shalom Sagner's body to Israel for burial as soon as possible.

Yossi Landau, commander of ZAKA's Lachish region, stated that from the moment they received the report, they have been supporting the family and facilitating all required arrangements. The family released a statement mourning the loss of their "pure and innocent" child, expressing hope for comfort and healing.

Rabbi Shalom Arush, the child's grandfather, is a prominent figure in the religious community, known for his leadership of the 'Thread of Kindness' institutions and his efforts in Jewish outreach across Israel.
