Israeli Toddler Drowns in Mexican Pool, Family Assisted by ZAKA

A tragic incident occurred in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, where a four-year-old Israeli boy from Jerusalem drowned after falling into a swimming pool during the Sabbath. The child was with his family at the time, and his death was confirmed at the scene. Upon receiving the report, ZAKA's international unit immediately coordinated with local Mexican authorities and relevant parties to assist the family in completing necessary procedures.

Local authorities initially requested an autopsy on the boy's body, but this was ultimately waived, allowing for the release of the body. ZAKA's international unit is now working to finalize arrangements to return the boy's remains to Israel for burial as soon as possible. Yossi Landau, commander of ZAKA's Lachish region, stated, "From the moment we received the report, we have been supporting the family and assisting them with all required matters. After the autopsy was avoided and the body was released, we are now working with the relevant Mexican authorities to complete the procedures and bring him to Israel promptly for burial."
