Reserve Officers Harel Birenstock and Tamir Vaknin Killed by IED in Southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the deaths of two reserve officers, Major Harel Birenstock and Lieutenant Colonel Tamir Vaknin, following an explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) in the village of Majdal Zun in southern Lebanon. Both were members of the 2855th Battalion of the 55th Paratroopers Brigade. Birenstock, aged 34 from Nokedim, served as the commander of Company A in the battalion. Vaknin, aged 33 from Eilat, was a combat medic in the same company. The incident occurred during their operational activities in the area.
