Violent Clashes Break Out Between Security and Fans at Hapoel Petah Tikva Toto Cup Match

A violent altercation erupted during a Toto Cup match at the Shlomo Biton Stadium in Petah Tikva on Wednesday evening between Hapoel Petah Tikva fans and security personnel. The conflict escalated into a brawl in the stands, resulting in one fan sustaining a head injury and being hospitalized at Beilinson Hospital with bleeding. Three security guards were arrested for questioning under Section 27A1 of the Copyright Law, with one suspect, a resident of East Jerusalem, accused of striking the fan's head with a baton.

The incident reportedly began during halftime following a verbal exchange between fans and security staff. Video footage from the scene shows security personnel throwing chairs at fans, while some fans responded by punching the security guards. Another fan was injured after being hit by a broken chair. Riot police were called to restore order in the stands.

Despite the violent disruption during the break, the second half of the match resumed as scheduled. The stadium's security manager was requested to provide the identities of all security staff present for the investigation. The match concluded with Hapoel Petah Tikva losing 2-0 to Maccabi Netanya.
