Security Guard Assaults Hapoel Petah Tikva Fan with Iron Rod During Toto Cup Match

During a Toto Cup match between Hapoel Petah Tikva and Maccabi Netanya on Wednesday evening at the Petah Tikva stadium, a violent altercation broke out involving security personnel and Hapoel Petah Tikva fans. The incident occurred in the eastern stand, where security guards were seen striking fans with various objects, including chairs and iron rods. The exact cause of the confrontation remains under investigation.

According to eyewitness accounts, the conflict began when two fans from the Hapoel Petah Tikva supporters' organization moved toward the lower railing to adjust some banners. Security guards approached them, issuing threats and harsh language to force them back to their seats. The situation escalated into a larger brawl, during which one security guard grabbed an iron rod from a banner and struck a fan with it.

Hapoel Petah Tikva representative Barney Ardov condemned the attack, stating, "The game ended, but after the shocking assault by security guards on our fans during halftime, football no longer matters. We wish a speedy recovery to the fan hospitalized and remind everyone that fans' safety is not to be taken lightly." The club is cooperating with police investigations and demanding the arrest of those involved.
