Hapoel Jerusalem Fans Assaulted After Defeat by Maccabi Tel Aviv in Violent Clashes

Following Hapoel Jerusalem's 5-2 loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv in Rehovot, violent clashes erupted involving fans from both teams. Shortly after the final whistle, a group of Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters attacked Hapoel Jerusalem fans with pepper spray and batons, causing damage to vehicles and theft of property. Two Hapoel Jerusalem fans were hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the altercation.

Hapoel Jerusalem condemned the violence and called on the police to take action against the perpetrators, stating they have evidence identifying some attackers and demanding Maccabi Tel Aviv remove these individuals from their fan base. One assaulted fan recounted how his brother was hit in the head with a large rock and beaten with batons while trying to help another fan whose phone was being stolen. Despite being unarmed and non-aggressive, he was also attacked.

The injured brother remains conscious but suffered a severe head wound and significant blood loss. As of the report, Maccabi Tel Aviv had not issued any statement condemning the violence or addressing the incident.
