Jerusalem Fans Attacked by Maccabi Tel Aviv Supporters After Match, Two Injured
Following the Premier League match between Hapoel Jerusalem and Maccabi Tel Aviv on August 23, a group of Maccabi fans violently attacked Jerusalem supporters. The incident occurred after the game ended, when about 20 Maccabi fans approached Jerusalem fans' vehicle, questioned them about their bags, sprayed them with pepper spray, smashed the car window, and stole their bags. Subsequently, another group of around 20 masked Maccabi fans assaulted Jerusalem supporters with bats and threw stones, resulting in injuries to several fans. Two injured Jerusalem supporters were taken to the hospital. The entire episode lasted approximately ten minutes. Israeli police arrived about fifteen minutes later but left without collecting any testimonies. Video footage circulating on social media shows Maccabi fans rioting after the match.
