Omri Glazer Returns to Maccabi Haifa as Starting Goalkeeper for Second Stint

Maccabi Haifa officially announced on July 20, 2026, that they have signed goalkeeper Omri Glazer to a three-year contract, marking his return to the club for a second tenure. Glazer, who previously played for Haifa from 2016 to 2021 mainly as a backup, will replace Georgi Yermakov as the team's starting goalkeeper. The transfer is pending medical examinations before Glazer joins the squad immediately.

The club paid 300,000 euros to secure Glazer's release from Red Star Belgrade, where he had been the primary goalkeeper since signing in summer 2023. His contract with Haifa includes a salary of 400,000 euros plus bonuses, making him one of the club's highest earners. Glazer previously impressed during two seasons at Hapoel Be'er Sheva (2021-2023), helping them win the State Cup and reach the UEFA Conference League group stage.

At Red Star Belgrade, Glazer played 51 league matches, kept 22 clean sheets, and contributed to three league titles. He also appeared nine times in the UEFA Champions League, including a notable performance with 13 saves in a 3-1 loss to Manchester City in September 2023. However, in his second season at Red Star, he lost his starting spot and played only seven games across all competitions. Glazer will reunite with coach Barak Bachar at Maccabi Haifa, where he began his professional career after developing at Hapoel Ra'anana.
