Maccabi Haifa Opens Talks to Sign Goalkeeper Omri Glazer Amid Giorgi Yermakov Exit

Maccabi Haifa is preparing for a significant roster change as goalkeeper Giorgi Yermakov is expected to leave the club soon for Metalist Kharkiv. Reports from Ukraine indicate that Haifa will receive around 3.2 million euros for the transfer. Yermakov, who joined Haifa two years ago for 100,000 euros and spent his first season on loan at Oleksandriya, informed the club last week of his desire to depart and confirmed his exit to teammates.

Following Yermakov's anticipated departure, Maccabi Haifa has initiated talks with Israeli goalkeeper Omri Glazer. Although the option to sign Glazer was exercised by Red Star Belgrade, he is not considered their first-choice keeper and appears to have reached a plateau there. Haifa aims to finalize an agreement with Glazer quickly to facilitate Yermakov's transfer. Glazer is currently the only Israeli candidate for the position, and the club prefers not to use a foreign player slot for goalkeeper.

Glazer is expected to be offered a long-term contract and become one of the highest-paid players at Maccabi Haifa. If the deal is completed, this will mark Glazer's second stint with the club. The club is moving swiftly to secure its goalkeeping future ahead of the upcoming season.
