Maccabi Haifa Agrees to Sell Goalkeeper Yermakov to Metalist Kharkiv for 3.2 Million Euros
Maccabi Haifa is set to transfer goalkeeper Georgi Yermakov back to Ukraine, joining Metalist Kharkiv. Ukrainian media reported on July 5, 2026, that the 24-year-old Yermakov has agreed to personal terms with Metalist, with the clubs finalizing the deal in the coming days. The transfer fee was negotiated from an initial 5 million euros demanded by Haifa down to 3.2 million euros, following Metalist's initial offer of 3 million euros.
Yermakov began his career at Shakhtar Donetsk and later played for Oleksandriya before signing with Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2024. He spent his first season on loan to gain experience but returned to Haifa last summer, where he became a key player, making 37 appearances last season. Yermakov comes from a Ukrainian Jewish family that emigrated to Holon, Israel. This move marks a significant change for Haifa's goalkeeping lineup.
