Maccabi Haifa Agrees to Sell Goalkeeper Yermakov to Metalist Kharkiv for 3.2 Million Euros
Maccabi Haifa is set to transfer goalkeeper Georgi Yermakov back to Ukraine, joining Metalist Kharkiv after reaching an agreement between the clubs. The 24-year-old goalkeeper, who was one of Haifa's standout players last season, will complete the move in the coming days following a negotiation that settled on a transfer fee of 3.2 million euros. Initially, Maccabi Haifa demanded 5 million euros, while Metalist offered 3 million euros, but the final compromise was reached after prolonged talks.
Yermakov began his career with Shakhtar Donetsk and later played for Oleksandriya before signing with Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2024. He spent his first season gaining experience with his previous club but returned to Haifa last summer, where he made 37 appearances during the past season. Yermakov comes from a Ukrainian Jewish family that emigrated to Holon, Israel.
