Maccabi Haifa Agrees to Transfer Goalkeeper Giorgi Yermakov to Metalist Kharkiv

Maccabi Haifa is set to undergo a significant change in its goalkeeper lineup after reaching an agreement with Ukrainian club Metalist Kharkiv for the transfer of goalkeeper Giorgi Yermakov. The deal is expected to be finalized within the coming week, with Metalist planning to sign three new players, including Yermakov. Although the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed, Maccabi Haifa is anticipated to receive a substantial sum estimated at around 3 million euros.

Yermakov began his career with Shakhtar Donetsk and later played for Oleksandriya before signing with Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2024. Initially, he stayed with his previous club for experience but returned to Haifa this summer. During the last season, Yermakov, who comes from a Ukrainian Jewish family that emigrated to Holon, Israel, made 37 appearances and was considered one of the team's standout players. This transfer follows Maccabi Haifa's recent agreement to transfer another player, Omri Glazer, signaling a reshuffle in the team's goalkeeping position.
