Maccabi Haifa Agrees to Transfer Goalkeeper Giorgi Yermakov to Metalist Kharkiv

Maccabi Haifa is set to undergo a significant change in its goalkeeper lineup. The club has already finalized the transfer of Omri Glazer, and now Ukrainian club Metalist Kharkiv has agreed to acquire goalkeeper Giorgi Yermakov. Metalist is expected to sign three new players soon, including Yermakov, after reaching a deal with Maccabi Haifa on the transfer fee. The exact amount Metalist will pay remains undisclosed, but Maccabi Haifa is anticipated to earn approximately 3 million euros from the deal.

Yermakov began his career with Shakhtar Donetsk and later played for Oleksandriya before signing with Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2024. Initially, he stayed with his previous club for experience but returned to Maccabi Haifa this summer. Last season, Yermakov, who comes from a Ukrainian Jewish family that emigrated to Holon, Israel, played 37 matches and was considered one of the team's standout performers. The transfer is expected to be completed within the coming week.
