Maccabi Haifa Opens Talks to Sign Goalkeeper Omri Glazer Amid Giorgi Yermakov Exit
Maccabi Haifa is preparing for significant changes as goalkeeper Giorgi Yermakov is expected to leave the club soon for Metalist Kharkiv. According to reports from Ukraine, Haifa will receive approximately 3.2 million euros for the transfer. Yermakov informed the club management last week of his desire to leave and confirmed his departure to teammates after just one season with the team. He was originally signed for 100,000 euros two years ago and spent his first season on loan at Ukrainian club Oleksandriya, making this a financially beneficial deal for Haifa.
Following Yermakov's anticipated exit, Maccabi Haifa has initiated talks with Israeli goalkeeper Omri Glazer. Although Red Star Belgrade had an option on Glazer, he is not expected to be the first-choice goalkeeper there and appears to have reached a plateau at the club. Haifa aims to reach a swift agreement with Glazer to facilitate Yermakov's transfer. Glazer is currently the only Israeli candidate for the goalkeeper position, and the club does not intend to use a foreign player slot for this role. He is expected to be offered a long-term contract and become one of the highest-paid players at Maccabi Haifa. If the deal is completed, this will mark Glazer's second stint with the club.
