Maccabi Haifa Seeks Improved Offer as Giorgi Yermakov Transfer to Metalist Kharkiv Advances

Maccabi Haifa secured a 2-1 victory over Dundee in their first preseason match ahead of the 2026/2027 season, while behind the scenes significant developments are underway regarding goalkeeper Giorgi Yermakov's future. Metalist Kharkiv is pressing Yermakov to expedite his transfer, with ongoing negotiations between the clubs expected to accelerate in the coming days. Yermakov has expressed his desire to move to the Ukrainian club, signaling his intention to leave Maccabi Haifa.

Currently, Metalist's offer stands at 2.5 million euros, but Maccabi Haifa is demanding an improved bid, reportedly seeking between 4 and 5 million euros. Omri Nir'on is the preferred option for this role, and after finalizing this signing, the club intends to allow Sheriff Kiyof to transfer to Hapoel Ramat Gan.
