Maccabi Haifa Considers Goalkeeper Options Amid Georgi Yarmakov's Potential Departure
Maccabi Haifa is currently focused on signing Radinio Balakr but may soon need to strengthen its goalkeeper position. Georgi Yarmakov has expressed his desire to leave the club, but Haifa has set a high asking price of 5 million euros, which interested teams have not met so far. If Yarmakov is sold, Haifa has identified Omri Glazer, the Israeli national team goalkeeper, as their preferred replacement. The coaching staff holds Glazer in high regard, making him the leading candidate for the role.
However, the club acknowledges the possibility that they may not secure Glazer. In that case, they have considered Nadav Zamir as an alternative. Previously, Haifa approached Zamir, who plays for Hapoel Jerusalem, but only as a backup goalkeeper, a role he declined. Should Yarmakov leave and the deal for Glazer fall through, Haifa plans to revisit the option of signing Zamir. It is important to note that no formal approaches have been made yet to either Hapoel Jerusalem or Zamir's representatives.
