Maccabi Haifa Overhauls Goalkeeper Lineup Ahead of New Season

Maccabi Haifa is undergoing a significant reshuffle of its goalkeeper roster ahead of the upcoming season. The club plans to sign two new goalkeepers, sell its senior goalkeeper Giorgi Yermakov, and loan out backup goalkeeper Sharif Kiyuf. However, negotiations with Ukrainian club Metalist Kharkiv over Yermakov's transfer fee remain unresolved, with Haifa demanding an increase from the current offer of 2.5 million euros. Yermakov has agreed in principle to personal terms but the deal hinges on the clubs reaching a consensus.

To replace Yermakov, Haifa is pursuing Omri Glazer from Red Star Belgrade. Glazer's transfer is pending approval from his Serbian club, which has yet to finalize his release. Meanwhile, Maccabi Netanya recently signed goalkeeper Samuel Silva, who joins Niv Antman and Omri Nir'on. Nir'on is reportedly sought after by Haifa, and once his transfer is completed, Sharif Kiyuf will be loaned to Hapoel Ramat Gan, where he has already reached a preliminary agreement.

This goalkeeper overhaul reflects Maccabi Haifa's strategic efforts to strengthen its squad depth and address key positions before the season starts. The club continues to work behind the scenes to finalize these moves amid ongoing negotiations with multiple parties.
