Maccabi Haifa Overhauls Goalkeeper Lineup Ahead of New Season

Maccabi Haifa is undergoing a significant reshuffle of its goalkeeper roster ahead of the upcoming season. The club plans to sign two new goalkeepers, sell its senior goalkeeper Giorgi Yermakov, and loan out backup goalkeeper Sharif Kiyuf. However, negotiations with Metalist Kharkiv over Yermakov's transfer fee remain unresolved, as Haifa demands an improved offer beyond the current 2.5 million euros. Yermakov has agreed in principle to personal terms but the transfer hinges on the clubs reaching a financial agreement.

To replace Yermakov, Haifa is pursuing Omri Glazer from Red Star Belgrade. Glazer's transfer is pending approval from his Serbian club, which has yet to finalize his release. Meanwhile, Maccabi Netanya recently signed goalkeeper Samuel Silva, joining Niv Antman and Omri Nir'on. Nir'on is reportedly of little future interest to Netanya and is expected to move to Haifa soon. Once Nir'on's transfer is complete, Sharif Kiyuf is set to join Hapoel Ramat Gan on loan, having already reached a preliminary agreement.

This goalkeeper overhaul reflects Maccabi Haifa's strategic efforts to strengthen its squad depth and address key positions before the season starts, with several deals still in negotiation stages.
