Maccabi Haifa Negotiates Goalkeeper Transfers Amid Price Gaps and Squad Plans

Maccabi Haifa is currently negotiating the transfer of Ukrainian-Israeli goalkeeper Georgi Yermakov with Metalist Kharkiv. The club demands 4 million euros, while Metalist initially offered 2.5 million euros and recently increased their bid to 3 million euros. Despite the gap, Haifa sources believe Yermakov will leave for Kharkiv once a compromise is reached. Following his sale, Haifa plans to sign Omri Glazer, who is expected to be released or transferred for a low fee from Red Star Belgrade. Most terms with Glazer have already been agreed upon, and Haifa’s coach Barak Bachar, who previously worked with Glazer, is eager to reunite with him.

Haifa understands that failing to acquire Glazer this season while holding out on Yermakov could result in losing their top goalkeeper next year without securing a strong Israeli replacement. Regarding the backup goalkeeper position, Haifa is close to finalizing terms with Omri Nir'on but will proceed only after resolving the Yermakov and Glazer situations. If successful, Haifa intends to loan out Sharif Kiyof to Hapoel Ramat Gan, which has expressed strong interest in the player.
