Maccabi Haifa Seeks to Reduce Omri Glazer Transfer Cost Amid Goalkeeper Swap Talks
Maccabi Haifa is nearing a significant change in its goalkeeper lineup as it aims to finalize the transfer of Omri Glazer from Red Star Belgrade while managing the sale of Giorgi Yermakov to Metalist Kharkiv. Metalist Kharkiv is actively pushing to acquire Yermakov, who has already agreed to terms with the Ukrainian club and is eager to leave Haifa. Concurrently, Haifa is negotiating to lower the cost of acquiring Glazer in order to maximize profits from the goalkeeper exchange deal. Glazer, who previously played for Maccabi Haifa from 2016 to 2021 before moving to Hapoel Be'er Sheva and then Red Star, is interested in the move and discussions with Red Star about his departure are ongoing. The two transfers could be completed within the next day. Yermakov, 24, originally joined Haifa for just 100,000 euros and is expected to be sold for over 3 million euros, representing a substantial financial gain for the club.
