Maccabi Haifa Nears Deal to Sell Goalkeeper Yermakov Amid Squad Changes

Maccabi Haifa is close to finalizing the transfer of Ukrainian-Israeli goalkeeper Georgi Yermakov to Metalist Kharkiv, with the deal expected to conclude in the coming days for around 3 million euros. Despite the club's strong desire to retain Yermakov, the goalkeeper is determined to leave, and Ukrainian media have already reported the deal as closed, though minor details remain to be settled. Concurrently, Haifa has initiated efforts to sign Omri Glazer from Red Star Belgrade, anticipating that the Serbian club will agree to release him for compensation, which is expected to be modest due to Glazer's diminished role there.

In addition to these moves, Haifa is addressing the backup goalkeeper position. Sheriff Kiyuf, currently interested in a loan move to Hapoel Ramat Gan, will only be allowed to leave once the club resolves the situations involving Glazer and Yermakov. Following these transfers, Haifa plans to pursue Omri Nir'on from Maccabi Netanya to fill the backup goalkeeper role and facilitate Kiyuf's loan.
