Maccabi Haifa Goalkeeper Georgi Yarmakov Seeks Transfer, Open to Ukrainian Club Metalist Kharkiv
Georgi Yarmakov, the goalkeeper for Maccabi Haifa, is determined to leave the club and play in a different league. The most serious offer he has received so far is from Metalist Kharkiv in Ukraine, and unlike before, Yarmakov is now open to joining the Ukrainian team. Maccabi Haifa demands five million euros for Yarmakov, but the highest offers stand at only 2.5 million euros, creating a significant gap between the club's asking price and the bids received. Besides Metalist Kharkiv, other clubs have shown interest, but the Ukrainian team remains the most serious contender.
Yarmakov has communicated his desire to leave directly to Maccabi Haifa's owner, Yaakov Shahar, but the high asking price is currently blocking any deal. Meanwhile, Yarmakov continues to train and play with Maccabi Haifa until an agreement is reached. His wish to depart has also affected the club's plans for backup goalkeeper Sharif Kiuf, who has not been granted permission to leave for Hapoel Ramat Gan and was initially not even expected to attend the training camp. If Maccabi Haifa eventually releases Yarmakov, they plan to pursue Israeli goalkeeper Omri Glazer from Red Star as a replacement.
