A 29-year-old Israeli man died overnight, between Tuesday and Wednesday, in a road accident in Chisinau, Moldova. According to ZAKA, the car he was traveling in overturned into a ravine.
Rescue teams were called to the scene and pulled him out in critical condition, but doctors later had to pronounce him dead despite efforts to save him. Baruch Nidam, head of ZAKA’s international division, said the team arrived at the crash site immediately after receiving the report.
Nidam said the rescuers found the vehicle crushed inside the ravine. ZAKA is now working with local authorities on the handling of the deceased and on releasing the body so it can be flown to Israel for burial.
