A Haredi man from Jerusalem in his 30s was killed in a single-car crash in Chisinau, Moldova. His family has been informed of the tragedy.
According to the report, his vehicle overturned into a ravine. Rescue crews arrived, pulled him from the wreckage in very serious condition, and after finding that he had suffered multiple injuries, pronounced him dead at the scene.
After the incident was reported, ZAKA’s international unit began working with local authorities, the family, and the Jewish community to handle the site and advance the necessary procedures so the body can be brought to Israel for burial.
ZAKA Europe commander Nachman Dikstein said the organization immediately opened contact with authorities in Chisinau and other relevant parties, is accompanying the family throughout the process, and is working to collect evidence, speed up the release of the deceased, and transfer him for burial in Israel “as quickly as possible and with the proper dignity.” Baruch Nidam, head of ZAKA’s international division in Tel Aviv, said a team and Rabbi Salzman reached the scene, found a wrecked car inside the ravine, and began treating the deceased respectfully while working with local officials to release the body for transport to Israel and a funeral.
