Israel Views Dubai Flight Incident as Terror Attack Targeting Abraham Accords

Israel's Foreign Ministry briefed its ambassadors worldwide on Wednesday regarding a security incident on a Flydubai flight, characterizing it as a terror attempt aimed at Israelis, the United Arab Emirates, and the Abraham Accords. The briefing, held under the direction of Foreign Minister Gideon Saar and led by Director-General Eden Bar-Tal, emphasized that terrorism will not undermine the strong relations between Israel and the UAE or regional developments.

Ministry officials stated that the regional partnership will continue without compromise, despite attempts to harm it. They highlighted that the ministry played a central role in the efforts to safely return the flight's passengers to Israel from the moment initial reports of the incident emerged. Relevant departments in Israel and at Israeli missions abroad were immediately activated, with the ministry's Situation Center maintaining continuous contact with families in a dedicated command center.

Concurrently, Israel's ambassador to the UAE was in constant contact with the passengers during their stay in Saudi Arabia following the emergency landing. The ambassador assisted in logistical and diplomatic efforts to get them onto a rescue flight and coordinated closely with relevant parties until all citizens were successfully returned to Israel.
