Sunflower Seed Snack Recalled in Israel Over Incorrect Salty Labeling
Dean Marketing and Roasting 2021 Ltd. has announced an urgent recall of "Sasson Hakola" brand "Salt-Free Roasted Sunflower Seeds" in 150-gram packages. The recall, coordinated with the Ministry of Health's Central District Food Service, was initiated after a consumer complaint and subsequent investigation revealed that the product packaging incorrectly stated it was salt-free.
In reality, the product contains salt, contradicting the "salt-free" claim on the label. This mislabeling poses a particular risk to consumers on sodium-restricted diets or those medically advised to limit sodium intake. The affected products bear barcode 7290019297642 and have expiration dates of January 26, 2027, August 27, 2027, and August 12, 2027.
The company is urging consumers who possess these specific batches to refrain from consuming them and to contact the company at 052-3112488 for further inquiries. This recall follows a separate product recall by Rami Levy just days prior, involving children's tricycles due to safety concerns.
