Dean Marketing and Roasting 2021 Ltd. has issued a recall for its "Sason Hakola" brand roasted sunflower seeds, specifically the salt-free variety. The company announced the product recall on Tuesday following a consumer complaint and subsequent inspection by the Food Service.
The inspection revealed that the product's labeling was inaccurate, indicating it was salt-free when it actually contained salt, contrary to the packaging's declaration. This discrepancy poses a risk to consumers who are medically required to limit their sodium intake or adhere to a low-sodium diet.
Dean Marketing and Roasting is cooperating with the Central District Food Service to collect the affected product from distribution channels.
