Netanyahu Meets UAE President in First Official Confirmation of Visit
For the first time, the United Arab Emirates has officially confirmed a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Ofra Al-Hameli, Director of Strategic Communications at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced on Monday evening that UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Netanyahu during his visit to the Emirates the previous day. This marks the first public confirmation from the UAE side, following an earlier announcement from the Prime Minister's office.
According to the Emirati statement, the two leaders discussed relations between the UAE and Israel and explored avenues for strengthening and developing them. The brief statement did not provide further details on other topics discussed or any agreements reached. The Prime Minister's office had previously stated that Netanyahu and his wife visited the UAE at the invitation of President bin Zayed.
The Prime Minister's office also indicated that the visit addressed regional challenges. Attendees from the Israeli side included the Director of the Mossad, the National Security Advisor, the Military Secretary, and the Political Advisor.
