Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a secret meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The visit, which was not officially announced, began with Netanyahu departing on a private jet early in the morning and staying in the Emirates throughout the day, according to reports from Channel 12.

Two sources confirmed the meeting, which comes amid a political storm in Israel concerning allegations that Netanyahu received a warning about a potential large-scale attack before the October 7th Hamas assault. The Prime Minister's Office has declined to provide any details about the meeting or the discussions held between the two leaders.

The secret visit occurs against the backdrop of Israeli elections, with security and policy issues dominating political campaigns. This meeting follows reports in the Haaretz newspaper claiming the UAE president had warned Netanyahu about a broad plot ten days before the October 7th attack.
