Channel 12's diplomatic correspondent Yaron Avraham described the behind-the-scenes decision to delay reporting on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Avraham received the news while on vacation in northern Israel with his family and immediately arranged for a cameraman to be present.
However, the broadcast was held back until Netanyahu landed back in Israel. Avraham explained that the decision was made out of concern for Netanyahu's safety while in transit. "As long as he was in the air, we felt we could not publish this thing," he stated.
