Israel's Health Ministry Shuts Down Private Medica Hospital in Tel Aviv Over Serious Violations

Israel's Ministry of Health has ordered the immediate cessation of all medical activities at the private Medica Hospital in Tel Aviv. The decision follows a surprise inspection that uncovered serious violations posing an "immediate and grave danger to patients."

The inspection, conducted at the hospital's premises on HaBarzel Street in the Ramat Hahayal area, revealed a series of significant breaches in the hospital's operational procedures, particularly within operating rooms and concerning patient safety. Specific violations included the performance of medical procedures beyond the staff's professional scope and in contravention of binding regulations, alongside other deficiencies in medical performance and workflow.

The Ministry stated that the findings indicate systemic and administrative failures throughout the hospital's operations, presenting a direct and serious threat to the health and well-being of patients. The ministry's order aims to prevent further harm by halting all medical services until the issues are rectified.
